Film work

Filming 'Clash of the titans in the Canaries. This boat sat on the roundabout for years. No one would guess it sailed from one end of the Tenerife to the other quite regularly  for this film work!

This replica of a 2500 year old design was built at Charlestown harbour. I had the privalege of having a go at helming this boat.
I believe Dave Redhead was skipper of this boat for 'Blackbeard' who presently has Sea Lion in the harbour.
Filming Blackbeard in St Austell Bay using Phoenix, Dave Edginton was with me as a safety diver.
Filming David Copperfield in the harbour at Charlestown. This was water being dumped onto the top of a sailing boat to simulate a storm. I also used an ex racing RIB to drive round in circles at  speed to create waves to add to the effect at night time!
Filing ' Three men in another boat' with Robin Davies, my mentor, who introduced me to marine film work. This is about 2004/5. The cameraman is filming 'Arc Royal', the aircraft carrier which appeared in the same program. Passing under her  bow by about 4 metres whilst she is moving makes one very careful.

This a picture taken while on a recce for the film ' Clash of the titans' with Robin Davies. The point of the exercise was where to moor the boats on the north of Tenerife  and as close  to the filming location as possible. The weather can change quickly there. The port chosen was Garachico. A few times we ended up running to the south of the island for shelter, which was a trip of about 30 miles.
